Wie schon angekündigt, stellt George Hotz
das 2te Release seines iPhone 3G S Unlock Tools
nun via Cydia bereit. Man addet die Source
com.geohot.purplesn0w und installiert
unter “Dienstprogramme” das com.geohot.purplesn0w.
Danach startet man das iPhone einmal neu
und kann sich freuen. Beeindruckend ist,
das sein Tool nur ca. 4KB groß ist.
ultrasn0w 0.9.3 vom Dev-Team ist dreifach (11KB) so groß.
Schauen wir mal, wie es sich bewährt.

* Fehler bei der 3G Netzwerkgeschwindigkeit
* das ganze Tool besteht nur noch aus EINER Datei
(einen Vergleich zwischen purple- und ultrasn0w findest Du hier)
* hinterlässt nach der Installation keine Spuren auf dem Baseband
* lauft viel sauberer uns sicherer als das erste Release

• Versichere, dass du ein aktiviertes 3GS hast
• 3G/UMTS deaktivieren, wenn es nicht zur Verfügung steht
• Die Source apt.geohot.com in Cydia einfügen
• com.geohot.purplesn0w installieren
• warten bis das iPhone zur PIN Eingabe auffordert
• PIN eingeben und gut.
• kein Reboot mehr nötig

Und da ist er. Der erwartete Unlock des iPhone 3G S von GeoHot.
Nach dem er sich die Tage noch mit dem Dev-Team gestritten hatte,
wer nun jetzt von wem irgendwas geklaut/kopiert hatte,
bringt er nun seinen eigenen Unlock für das iPhone 3G S
purplesn0w (purplesn0w_0.1_iphoneos-arm.deb)
heißt sein Tool, was über Cydia installiert wird.

Wifi fails? Battery fails? Unlock fails?
You need purplesn0w, the geohot 3GS unlock solution.
Now I know you here a lot about different colors of sn0w,
but I’m here to tell you why purplesn0w is the best. First off,
what is purplesn0w? It’s a soft unlock for your 3GS
that I’d actually use day to day. It’s not a daemon that takes
any resources, and it doesn’t add a task to your baseband.
It’s very close to a true unlock. All it does is patch three files,
CommCenter, lockdownd, and your wildcard activation plist
(which you need, activate w at&t sim first, no hacktivation support yet).
That’s it, no other files are installed. Props to Oranav for the at+xlog exploit!

out there will see what it does, and see why it’s so pristine
The payload is radically different from other varieties of sn0w.

• Be sure to have legit activated 3GS
• Disable 3G if you don’t have it(like T-Mobile).
• Add apt.geohot.com to Cydia
• Install com.geohot.purplesn0w
• Watch for success output in Cydia
• Reboot, and enjoy your unlocked iPhone
